The allegation that the Commander of the Azov Regiment was captured

Allegations that the Commander of the Azov Regiment of Ukraine was captured during the battle have spread on social networks.

In fact, the images date back seven years ago. Oleg Kuzminykh, born in 1977, is the person in the video, which was shared on different channels on YouTube under the title "Captured Cyborgs".

Kuzminykh, a lieutenant colonel in the Ukrainian Armed Forces and Commander of the 90th Battalion of the 93rd Airborne Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, was captured in January 2015 while defending Donetsk Airport.

He was lost in the fog while he was taking his wounded comrades out of the battlefield and was captured by the opposite side. Oleg Kuzminykh was released after 124 days in captivity and was awarded the III grade Order for Courage by then-Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

It should be noted that the Commander of the Azov Regiment is not Oleg Kuzminykh, but Denys Prokopenko.
