On March 7, a woman died after being vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine in Austria, and a thrombus occurred in the pulmonary artery of the other woman. As for the rejection, Austria did not completely abandon the vaccine, but simply suspended the use of its batch ABV5300.

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) 's safety committee, PRAC, said there was no evidence that the vaccine had caused the incidents.
