Target indicators for alternative energy were included in the document "Strategic Roadmap for the Development of Communal Services (Electricity and Thermal Energy, Water, and Gas) in the Republic of Azerbaijan", approved by the Decree of the President of the country dated December 6, 2016. According to the document, in 2020, the production capacity of wind energy in Azerbaijan should reach 350 MW, solar energy 50 MW, and bioenergy 20 MW.
Fakt Yoxla examined whether the promise was fulfilled.

As the table shows, although the government promised 350 MW of wind energy production capacity in the country in 2020, it has created only 66 MW of production capacity. The same indicator for solar energy was 35.1 MW against the promise of 50 MW, and it was equal to only 1 MW for bioenergy against the promise of 20 MW.
Fakt Yoxla concludes that the government has not fulfilled its promise.
